President Bannister Announces Mission to Mars

27 February 2021 - House 804 - Today, President Bannister charged the Boshka Space Agency with a new mission: To put a man on Mars within six months. According to the BSA, it could take anywhere from six to eight months to reach the surface of the Red Planet. However, it all depends on when you leave Earth. Don't worry. The BSA has already thought of that. In the mission details from the website, take off will have to occur on a specific day when the Earth's orbit and rotation line up perfectly so that the trajectory of the shuttle will be in line with Mars.

But it's not a "non-stop flight" to Mars. The crew will first land on the largest satellite orbiting Mars, Phobos. then they will head down from there. Once data and samples have been collected, and the flag is planted of course, the crew will meet back with the phase 2 rocket and make it's journey back to Earth. The crew will be in space for about a total of one year. When you count the trip back to Earth.

Some members of the scientific community have already heard rumors that NASA could be involved with this mission. Citing NASA's latest mission to Mars, Perseverance as a "dry-run" for humans to land, saying that the real mission is to test the atmosphere of Mars and if the space suits that have been designed can stand the pressures of the Martian atmosphere.
