06 October 2020 - Capital City, CW - The CBB said that they will be making a major announcement this afternoon related to the nation's currency. Specifically the banknotes. Back in September, the Central Bank of Boshka asked followers on Facebook to provide feedback on what they wanted to see on the 2021 series banknotes. Followers were asked to vote on two options. Historic figures or endangered species. Facebook followers were asked to vote using the heart react for historic figures and the sad react for endangered species. Endangered species won the vote.
So, what does this mean exactly? In the past, the CBB which is responsible for the printing of the nation's currency have chosen to add noble people of the world. Most famously, the 2013 banknote series featured people that contributed to society and the advancement of the world for the better. Those included were Leonardo da Vinci on the one dollar banknote, Nikola Tesla on the five dollar banknote, Michael Jackson on the ten dollar banknote, Lech Walesa on the fifty dollar banknote, and Martin Luther King, Jr. on the one hundred dollar banknote. The current series in circulation today, features symbols of Boshka such as the Erect-Crested Penguin on the one dollar banknote and the Boshkan Parakeet on the ten dollar banknote and others.
Now, that we know that the endangered species won the vote, we still don't know which endangered species made the cut. There are over 40,000 species on the IUCN red list and over 16,000 of them are endangered species according to endangeredearth.com.
We here at CBN are speculating that the news this afternoon will be related to the new banknote design, however we will have to wait until this afternoon to find out. Stay here for full coverage of the news.
