Raising the Minimum Wage

8 May 2019 - Capital City, CW. - Senators in the House of Commons are voting on a bill that would raise the national minimum wage from $9.00 CBD to $12.00 CBD per hour. "A lot of the citizens that we represent are voicing their concerns over the national minimum wage. When you compare it to other western parts of the world, where it stands now is blow that average. By raising it to $12.00 per hour, will bring it above that global average." said Senator Tom Jenson (L) a representative from Mel Korba a supporter of the bill that is currently being debated in the House of Commons.

"You know, when you raise the minimum wage, that affects everything. The cost of products and services will increase. If we have to pay our employees more, that money has to come from somewhere. The new tax law that started this year and now this, it's not going to be pretty." said Herman Webber, a small store owner in Dormeadow, RB.

The bill is currently being debated in the House of Commons. Once the bill passes, Boshkans will be paid a minimum of $12.00 CBD per hour.
