Tax Bill Passes in The HOC

21 September 2018 - Capital City, Carnswell - Carnswell insiders have confirmed to CBN that the House of Commons just passed the 2018 Tax Bill that was up for debate this week. As early as the 1st of January 2019, Boshkan residents will now have to pay income tax on a federal and province level. Only Boshkans who reside in the Commonwealth will have to pay the taxes. You don't have to pay if you reside outside of the Commonwealth or make less than $4000. If your income is less than $4000, you're exempt from taxes. There are very few exceptions, but according to the Bill, all income received as payment for goods or services is taxable. Also, included in the Bill was a province sales tax. This means that item you purchase, are now taxable. Each province gets to decide on how much they tax. So, that means, when the price tag reads $3.00 you could pay $3.18 at check-out. That's based on a sales tax of 6%.

President Bannister said, that this tax Bill is, "designed to keep more of your hard earned dollars in your pocket." One major exception to the Bill is that, non-prepared food items, such as groceries are tax free. Medications and medical transportation are also tax free.

According to the President, the Bill is going to help pay for, " infrastructure, the basic physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g., buildings, roads, and power supplies) needed for the operation of the country and your province."
